Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what information RustySkins (rustyskins.com) collects when you visit the site, how it is used, and the choices you have. RustySkins is a content and review website, we do not operate gambling, trading, or marketplace services ourselves, we do not process payments, and we never ask for your Steam credentials.

Information we collect

  • Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical data: IP address, browser type, pages requested, referring URL, and timestamps. We use these logs for security and troubleshooting and they are rotated on a routine schedule.
  • Analytics. If analytics software is enabled on this site, it collects aggregated usage data (pages viewed, approximate location by region, device type) so we can see which content is useful. Where required by law, analytics cookies are only set after you consent.
  • Contact messages. If you email us or use a contact form, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it solely to reply and keep correspondence only as long as needed.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and our gambling-related content is intended for adults only.

Cookies

This site may set a small number of cookies: functional cookies required for the site to work, and analytics cookies as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site remains usable without them.

Third-party embeds and outbound affiliate links

Some pages may embed third-party content (for example videos or social posts). When you load a page with an embed, the third party may collect data as if you visited their site directly, under their own privacy policy. Separately, many outbound links on RustySkins are affiliate links containing a referral tag. When you click one, the destination platform knows your visit came from RustySkins and may set its own cookies to attribute your signup. What those platforms do with your data is governed by their privacy policies, not ours, see our affiliate disclosure for how these links work.

How we use and share information

We use the information described above to operate and secure the site, understand which content readers find useful, and respond to messages. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except for the service providers who host and run the site (such as our hosting provider and, if enabled, our analytics provider), or where the law requires disclosure. We keep personal data only as long as needed for these purposes and apply reasonable technical measures, such as HTTPS across the site, to protect it.

Legal bases, retention and transfers

Where the GDPR applies, we process data on these legal bases: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (server logs and security measures), our legitimate interest in replying when you contact us (correspondence), and your consent (any analytics cookies, which are only set after you accept them; you can withdraw that consent at any time). Server logs are kept for a short rotation period set by our hosting provider and then deleted. Contact correspondence is kept only as long as needed to resolve your question. Some of our service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; where that happens, they commit to safeguards recognized under the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights (GDPR and CCPA summary)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale or sharing, we do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email us and we will respond within the legally required timeframe. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
